Is Magpie affiliated with Instagram?
No. Magpie is an independent app by Branch42 Labs. It works through Instagram DMs but isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram.
What can Magpie read?
Only the reels and messages you send to @magpie.bot. It can't see your feed, your other DMs, or your saved folder.
Can I delete my data?
Yes — anytime, from Settings. Everything Magpie remembers about you is deleted for good.
What are skills?
DM commands that act on your saves. /maps food turns saved places into a Google Maps list; /spotify save grabs the song from a reel. Set them up once in the app.
How do Reel notes work?
On Personal, Power, and Creator, reply to one of your saved reels with /notes your thought. Magpie preserves your exact words and searches them only for you during Recall. Replacing a note always asks first. Read the Notes guide →
What happens when Instagram paces messages?
Magpie queues your request and replies as soon as the window reopens. Nothing you send is lost.
Is it free?
Yes. Explorer includes 100 new Reel saves and 100 Recall searches each month, plus recipes, Maps, and Spotify. Personal makes Reel saves and Recall unlimited and adds private notes and collections; higher plans add recaps, exports, workflows, and creator tools.
